Sinucleanse Spammers and other Neti Pot Promoters

It looks like my blog has been hit by a wave of spammers promoting their neti pots and nasal irrigation systems.

I guess I was a little surprised that Sinucleanse, a reputable ( I think) company, employed multiple ( or 1 guy posing as multiple people) spammers to link to several landing pages owned by Sinucleanse in the comments.

Here's a tip: If you want a link on my blog and/or neti/sinus health related websites, ASK. If you want me to promote your book, send me a review copy. Or simply ask me to write a post or make a link to it. Not hard to do. If you don't know how to contact me, just ask me in the comments.

You know what isn't cool? Leaving multiple irrelevant comments on many posts. Furthermore, if you post a comment on my blog but delete my comments ( and fail to respond to simple requests/questions) on your blog, I'm deleting your comment ASAP.

If you are a neti pot user and you want to make a real comment ( sorry "John" and "Bob" and your duplicate low quality comments), with a link to your personal blog, that's cool with me. But if you are a fake guy named "John" who claims to manufacture furniture for a living, while getting paid to spam by Sinucleanse on the side- Get lost.

For what it's worth, I deal with many reputable companies when it comes to internet marketing promotion. They know how to ask for links and get them.

I contacted Sinucleanse to inquire about giving them some legit promo/ads/links/whatever. In other words I wanted to see if they operated like other legit companies or preferred the low-rent spammer approach. I guess I got my answer.

Neti Pot Demonstration Video

What about the Ear Pot / Ear Bidet?

My friend was telling me a story about how he had a clogged ear. Apparently it became water clogged and there was a ball of wax stuck in his ear. He knows that I use a neti pot.

He was relating how he managed to fix his ear by quirting some water in there with a bulb and he called it " ear bidet style." He knows that one of the slang terms for a neti pot is a nose bidet and I refer to mine by that name.

Yes, I use a Neti Pot

I am a real person and I use a neti pot, I don't just write blogs about it. I like to call it a nose bidet.

My routine pretty much follows my previous post about neti pot nasal irrigation. I use my nose bidet/neti pot every morning with the salt packets that came with it ( I use a Sinucleanse kit that came with 90 salt packets. I bought it and get refills HERE.

Before I brush my teeth in the morning, I gently blow my nose and irrigate my sinus area. I usually only do this once a day, but sometimes I use my nose pot at night before bed also.

I am sure the use of the neti pot is pretty new to a lot of us. I had never heard of it before the Oprah Winfrey show in early 2007. Even then the slang name "'nose bidet" was more memorable.

However, in many parts of the world nasal irrigation is pretty much a daily routine. We all brush our teeth at least daily- I hope. Jali neti ( nasal cleansing in sanskrit)is pretty much the same. It is a daily health and hygiene routine, like any other cleansing of the body. People in India and other places do this once a day in the morning. Some choose to perform the practice at the end of the day also, especially when congested or exposed to polluted environments.

Apparently Americans Don't know how to spell "nose bidet"

This is a blog about Neti Pots. If you didn't know, a net pot is also called a "nose bidet." When I started a little site about my nose bidet last year, it never occurred to me that "bidet" was a word many could not spell. I read this article the other day :Americans Want, Can't Spell Nose Bidet.

Apparently, many Americans spell it as nose beday, baday, biday, and even bedae. Sinucleanse learned this by bidding on these keywords in Adwords ( Google's Pay-Per-Click search). What I found interesting was that despite bidding on search results, no one bothered to actually register some of the available domains. Maybe the typo traffic wasn't worth the 5 bucks a year.
